All road trips are wonderful for me. I don't get to do it often, but the best one was a trip to Myrtle Beach with my daughter, grandson and two of his buddies. My daughter and I took turns driving. When we hit HollyMount,
N.C. my daughter hung a left which took us to the Outer Banks. My grandson loves Monster Trucks and his
favorite driver lives there. We didn't get to Myrtle Beach until about midnight, but we saw a lot more of the
country and enjoyed every minute of it.

I took a road trip from NY to California in 1975 with two friends from college. If was outrageous. We drove to every National Park along the way. The Grand Canyon was amazing. When we reached Califormia. we drove from San Diego to San Francisco along the Pacific Coast Highway. We New Yorkers marvelled at the sun setting in the Pacific Ocean. WOW!

We just got back from our first family road trip. We drove along the coast from Seattle down to Anaheim (Disneyland). We took three days each way and had so much fun at our stops along the way.

Definitely when we drove to Disney World overnight, stopping only to get gas, eat and switch drivers

My most memorable road trip was several months after I was divorced. My daughter and I drove to St. Louis. Since we didn't have much money, we packed the cooler with food and drinks. She became a great map reader at a young age. We had a great time.

This last fall my husbands company closed while he was in the hospital. After getting out of the hospital we did what we had never taken the time to do before. We went on a road trip with our five children. And went from Oklahoma to North Carolina via Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama thru Tennessee. It was so much fun even riding hour after hour with four boys and one girl ranging from 11 to 3. We saw the bridges over Memphis and hte cotton fields of Alabama. Stopped by the Ocoee River in Tennesee and then into North Carolina.
We all this trip was the glue that helped us get through so much and help my husband to move onto a new job and get better quicker. We will never forget this trip and never make life more important again than taking our kids on the road.

My most memorable road trip was many years ago with my mother and daughter. My daughter was he "model child" and never had tantrums. On this trip from Texas to Canada she had her first screaming tantrum (age 4) in KY when my mother refused to be the secretary in a game of play-like office because she couldn't type or take shorthand. She thought she would make a better boss. My daughter totally lost her cool and cut loose screaming and crying. We were stunned! We ended up laughing so hard at this out of the ordinary behavior that I had to pull over and dry my eyes and blow my nose. On the return trip she had another tantrum -- in KY. She never had another tantrum until she entered those dreadful teen years. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!

6 kids. VW camper bus. 1967. WHAT WERE MY FOLKS THINKING?
Dad, the high school art teacher, and Mom, the freelance writer, wanted us to 'SEE the USA', and Canada, and Mexico. The all-summer trip took us from Portland, Oregon, down to Mexico, across most of the 50 states, and back through Canada. We camped out in National Parks, stayed in funky little court motels across and a fancy hotel. We enjoyed mariachi bands, a trip through a whiskey distillery and a batik factory, ate key lime pie and real Maine lobster. It was the trip of a lifetime and I admire my parents more every day for taking on such a wild and crazy adventure with me and my five younger brothers!

My most memorable roadtrip was about 8 years ago when I was still single and had just graduated from college. 4 of my college friends and I packed up my friends Volvo Sedan and we headed down to Myrtle Beach for a week. I don't know if it was just realizing we had graduated from college and had our whole lives ahead of us, or whether there was Divine Intervention, but with 5 people in a somewhat small car we had the time of our lives. We sang songs all the way down, like "Under the Boardwalk", we laughed and jokes and took turns driving and we made it there in 16 hours! What I remember loving so much was the carefree frolicking feeling, I can feel it right now as I type, that feeling that all is perfect and your world is rosy and there was never one second of negativity in the air that entire week that we spent there. Since that time all 5 of us still keep in touch, but we are now scattered in different parts of the country, but will always remember our famous roadtrip!

Well, it wasn't a *good* memory, but it was memorable. Headed to Florida for Spring Break from middle America. Our car broke down when we were on the way back, so we had to leave the car there and buy bus tickets when the company was on strike. It took a few days to get back, and we were poor by that time. So not fun, and full of wish sandwiches. :-)
